Proposed District Plan - Further Submissions

Introduction
The Rotorua District Council publically notified the Proposed District Plan in 31st October 2013. Submissions closed on 1st March 2013. The Proposed Plan includes text and maps. It is available by clicking the following link - Proposed District Plan.

The Council publicly notified the Summary of Decisions requested by submitters is available from 15th May 2013 and called for further submissions which close on 28th May 2013. You can view the public notice, the original submissions and the Summary of Decisions Requested on this website. 

Online Further Submissions
The following is a further submission online Form 6. Where the form says 'submission' please read this as 'further submission'. If you made your original submission online you will need to create a NEW login to make a further submission. You may use the same email as you did for your original submission, but a different password for the further submission.

Then, in Step 2:

  • First Level: Select the original submitter you with to make a further submission about from the drop down box.
  • Second Level: Select the original submitter's submission point you with to support or oppose from the drop down box.
  • Click the blue- 'click here to show the content for this section' to display the original submitter's point and detail. Add your further submission point and save it.
  • If you wish to make more further submission points go back to the top of Step 2 to add others, saving each in turn. Proceed to Step 3 to review your draft further submission. Go between 'Previous' and  'Next' until you are happy with your further submission before proceeding to Step 4 to submit your further submission to Council.

Please Note: You do not have to send a hard copy of further submissions you have already sent electronically to Council.

A copy of your further submission must be served on the original submitter within five working days after making the further submission to Council. 

  • Closing date for lodging further submissions: 5:00pm Tuesday 28th May 2013

  • Privacy Act 1993 Note:  All further submissions (including name and contact details) may be published and made available to elected members and the public. Personal information will also be used for the administration of the district plan review process.

  • A further submission must be limited to a matter in support or opposition to an original submission to the proposed plan and must not introduce new issues.

  • A copy of your further submission must be served on the original submitter within five working days after making the further submission to Council

Further Submissions

If you are a person who could gain an advantage in trade competition through the further submission, your right to make a further submission may be limited by clause 6(4) of part 1 of the Schedule 1 of the Resouece Management Act 1991.   The following persons may make a further submission:
a) any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest; and
b) any person that has an interest in the Proposed District Plan greater than the interest that the general public has; and
c) the local authority itself
