- Reviewing engagement letters and management reports
- Approving Council's internal audit charter
- Approving the form and content of financial statements
- Reviewing Council’s accounting policies
- Meeting annually with external auditors
- Reviewing internal audit programmes and procedures
- Obtaining assurances from auditors that internal procedures are properly applied.
