Wastewater Reticulation Network
Rotorua’s wastewater reticulation network covers approximately 3150 hectares, from Okere Falls through to all suburban areas, and including Ngongotaha and the Atiamuri landfill.
The network serves a population of about 60 000 people. It carries an average of 20,000m3 (20,000,000 litres) of wastewater per day to the wastewater treatment plant, through about 500 kilometres of pipe, 7000 manholes and almost 73 wastewater pump stations.
