Rubbish Collection
Council collects refuse from approximately 25,000 properties in the Rotorua District.
We collect approximately 1.9 million bags per year.
Additional bags can be purchased from the RDC Customer Service Centre and most supermarkets. Bags cost 70c each, a surcharge may apply at some retail outlets.
Things to remember...
- Only Rotorua District Council official bags will be collected
- Tie bags securely and place at kerbside by 8.00am on collection day
- No changes to collection days for public holidays (including Christmas and Easter)

Rural collection days
Monday
- Tarawera Rd from Forest Road, Okareka Loop Road and Spencer Road areas, including all side roads and reserves
- Te Ngae Road (SH 30) from Alfred Road to Whakatane turn-off. Tauranga Highway (SH 33) to Mourea, Okere, Te Akau and Otaramarae. Includes all side roads and reserves.
- Whakatane highway (SH 30) from Te Ngae junction, Tikitere, Okataina, Rotoiti and Rotoma.
Includes all side roads and reserves.
- Hamurana Road from Keith Road to junction with Tauranga Highway (SH 33), including all side roads and reserves.
- Tauranga Direct Road to junction with Jackson Road. Jackson, Central, Sunnex and Sharp roads.
- Te Waerenga, Kapukapu, Dudley and Roy roads. Oturoa Rd to Flemming Rd.
- Mamaku area.

- Rerewhakaaitu township.
