GeyserView (online maps)
GeyserView (Rotorua District Council's GIS map viewer) provides access to interactive map based information about the Rotorua District. With the viewer you can:
- find property and rates information
- view property and road boundaries
- view piped assets such as water pipes, manholes, hydrants, catchpits and valves
- view aerial photography most recently taken in March 2006 for the Environment Bay of Plenty Regional Council portion of our district and January 2001 for the Environment Waikato Regional Council portion of our district
The connection method affects the level of functionality available. You are welcome to try both options, however unless you have a broadband connection to the internet, it is recommended that you use the default connection method.
Unfortunately, the browser you are using, does not have the use of 'scripting enabled'. This is required for the interactive maps to work.

Details on the data, that has gone into the map types, are able to be sourced from the metadata tools within the application. If you have any queries, please contact the Web Administrator by email.
Click on the appropriate image, to start Geyserview and view the different map types shown below.

Core Property Map Type This map type forms the basis of the other map types and includes: - address locations for the Rotorua District
- placenames within New Zealand
- roads within New Zealand
- land parcels for the Rotorua District
- lakes for the Rotorua District
- political areas such as ward boundaries

Core Property plus aerial photo Map Type This map type includes the layers in the Core Property as well as an imagery layer made up of: - an image showing the physical relief of New Zealand with a pixel size of 250m
- satellite imagery from LandSat 7 with a pixel size of 25m covering the Bay of Plenty
- aerial photography with a pixel size of 0.625m covering the Rotorua District
- aerial photography with a pixel size of 0.125m covering the urban areas of the Rotorua District

Core Property plus utilities Map Type This map type includes the layers in the Core Property as well as the three utility networks that the Council maintains being: - water supply
- waste water (also known as sewerage)
- storm water
