Drinking (Potable) Water
The Rotorua District Council Environmental Lab is IANZ accredited and registered with the Ministry of Health as an approved laboratory for testing potable water to confirm compliance with the New Zealand Drinking Water Standards 2005.
The laboratory conducts sampling and analysis for reticulated water supply within the Rotorua district. We can also provide potable water analyses for small communities, rural schools and private clients.
We hold Ministry of Health recognition for the following tests on drinking water:
- Faecal coliforms
- E.coli
- Nitrate / Nitrite
- Ammoniacal Nitrogen
- Conductivity
- Turbidity
- pH
- Total Dissolved Solids
We can provide sterile and preserved bottles FREE OF CHARGE.
As a small council-owned laboratory we do not operate expensive and resource hungry instrumentation but can provide metals and organics analyses through our preferred supplier (IANZ accredited) if required.
