Independant Qualified Person (IQP)

The owner, or anyone else on the owner's behalf, may inspect certain systems, but some systems need specialist inspection. An independent qualified person (IQP) is a person (or firm) approved by Council as qualified to inspect certain compliance schedule items and ensure that the necessary maintenance occurs.

‘Independent’ means that the person has no financial interest in the building.
