The award-winning Rotorua Museum is a department of Rotorua District Council.
The museum acts as guardian of local treasures and provides free educational opportunities for students.
More than 100 000 people visit each year.

Open Daily (except Christmas Day)
Summer: 9.00am - 8.00pm
(Occasionally during summer the museum will close at 6pm for private functions)
Winter: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Entry fee
If you are a Rotorua District resident, there is no charge to visit the museum. Bring identification to show that you are local (for example, a rates account).
Non-Resident charges
- Adult: $12.00
- Child: $5.50
- Family (2 Ad + up to 3 Ch): $28.00
- Family (1 Ad + up to 3 Ch): $16.00
- Prices valid until 30 June 2010

- Taonga Maori - spiritually and historically significant treasures of Te Arawa
- Fine Arts - important early graphic images of New Zealand, historic and contemporary artworks, sculpture, ceramics and craft
- Photographic - Over 70 000 images depicting Rotorua's rich past
- Social History - items relating to the Rotorua area since European settlement.
