Road Safety Projects

• Educating school children on being safe on and near roads
• Improving the safety of cyclists
• Improving the compliance of car seat belts
• Reducing excessive speeding and other dangerous driving behaviour
• Improve compliance and use of the Give Way rules at intersections
• Encourage novice drivers to complete the graduated driver licensing system
• Encourage communities to be proactive about issues that impact upon them directly
• To distribute allocated road safety resources
• To reduce the opportunities for people to drink and then drive
• To address the issues of inattentive driving including driver fatigue

The key to all of the activities and projects is establishing community development through involvement and encouraging people to share in taking responsibility for their safety on and near to road ways.
