Roading Services Information
There are two distinct roading networks in the Rotorua District. One is the State Highway Network. The other is classified as the Local Roading Network.
In most districts these two networks are managed quite separately. However, in the Rotorua District Council has the delegation from Transit New Zealand to manage the State Highway Network, as well as the local roads.
This has resulted in a benefit to ratepayers whereby we now just have one contractor maintaining Councils roads, albeit under two different contracts.
