Rotorua's population is gradually getting older. This will create challenges for Council in the delivery of its business activities. The Rotorua District Council Older Persons Policy was developed in response to the need for a strategic response to population ageing.
There are four key areas of Council activities that are necessary to empower people in positive old age:
- Political Voice
- Housing and Security
- Mobility and Transport
- Keeping Active
These four headings were used as the framework for the development of Rotorua District Council's Older Persons Policy.
