Access to Property Files
Property files may be viewed free of charge in the Records Room on the first floor of the Council Administration Building during normal business hours. When you visit, please quote the street address for the file you wish to view. We are happy to make any photocopies that you require - there is a minimal charge for this service.
Files remain the property of the Rotorua District Council, and may not be removed from the Records Room. If you require assistance interpreting the contents of a file, Records staff will escort you to the appropriate section of Council.
What's on a Property file?
Each Property file may contain different information. Some of the more common items you would expect to find include:
- Building Permits /Consents and associated plans
- Project Information Memorandums (PIMS)
- Code of Compliance Certificates
- Subdivision Consents
- Resource Consents
- Drainage Plans (as-builts)
- Building Warrants of Fitness
- Hazard, Caution and Information Notices
- Planning Restrictions
- Planning Certificates of Compliance
