Lakes A Zone Maps
The set of Planning Maps specific for the Lakes A Zone contains a left hand and right hand series termed Policy and Constraints.
It is necessary to read these planning maps together. The Constraints Maps shows information on matters such as Recommended Areas for Protection (areas of indigenous vegetation), designations, scenic road buffer requirements, archaeological sites, Maori Reserves, speed restriction areas and access lanes on Lakes.
The Policy series shows the specific Policy Area that applies to a specific parcel of land. There are five Policy Areas – Protection, Sensitive Rural, Less Sensitive Rural, Settlement and Bush Settlement. These Policy Areas under the Lakes A Zone have specific Rule sets to manage activities.
These are found in Part 8.0 of the Lakes A Zone and have been called Management Areas. There is also a Planning Map within the Lakes A Zone series relating to viewpoints.
