Viewing Tips
This website has been developed and optimised to be viewed using either Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher.
The website will also support the following browsers but some compromises in usability and visual effects can be expected:
- Firefox 3.0 (PC and Mac)
- Chrome 1.0 (PC)
- Safari 3.0 (Mac)
It's recommended that your monitor resolution is set to 1024 x 768 pixels.
Finding Information in this Web Site
This site has been designed with the aims of simplicity and ease of use.
There are many ways of searching information on this site. You can use the Search Site facility, Services A-Z keyword index and Sitemap.
We are constantly adding and updating information. To find out about something which is not included on the site please e-mail contact@rdc.govt.nz with your query.
View and Print PDF Document
Some of the content in this site are in Portable Document Format , which is well supported by most PCs' and Macs' today. FREE Adobe Reader version 5 or later is required to view the PDF files on this website. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your PC, please download Adobe Reader and follow the installation instructions on the Adobe website.
PDF documents on this website will be indicated as follows - link (pdf 525kb) OR link (pdf 1.1mb). Once it has been fully opened, you can view, print or save the file.
To print or save a PDF document, use the buttons on the Adobe Reader toolbar (NOT the web browser toolbar).
Downloading PDF Files
Please be aware that many of these PDF files, in particular the reports and maps, are large in size and may take considerable time to open and read online.
(For example, a pdf file that is 5.1mb in size will take approximately 21 minutes to download, on a 56k modem on a home telephone line.)
Where possible, these bigger pdf files have been split up into more manageable file chunks.
To download a PDF file to your PC, use the right mouse button to click over the link to access a links menu. If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer choose "Save Target As..." from the menu to save the file into your PC for future viewing.
