Drivewise
Drivewise Rotorua Trust
Comprises of a range of providers, stakeholders and individuals with an interest in road safety in the Rotorua District. Drivewise was launched in 1989 and became an Incorporated Society in 1995.
The vision of Drivewise Trust is that Rotorua Community will have the safest transport options. The aim of Drivewise is to provide strong independent advocacy for sustainable transport and for the reduction of road trauma in the Rotorua District.
Trustees within this group assist with the advising, planning and implementation of road safety initiatives and are involved with the regional Road Safety Action Planning group and the local Road Safety Operations group. Drivewise is representative of the local community and consults with the different community sectors each representative affiliates with.

Mission
- To provide strong independent advocacy for sustainable transport and for the reduction of road trauma in the Rotorua District.
Goals
- Rotorua District is a community in which all road users experience optimum safety.
- Rotorua District is a community in which the use of alternative modes of transport is supported and encouraged.
Strategies
- Ensure Drivewise Trustees are representative of the Rotorua community with the skills and experitse required to promote eand address Drivewise goals.
- Build strong community partnerships and networks to achieve our mission.
- Maximise the benefits of Rotorua district road safety and transport sustainability initiatives by assisting in the forward planning and coordination of projects.
- To actively participate in RSAP meetings to advocate for the Drivewise goals.
- Provide strong leadership and advocacy to influence transport safety and sustainability policy and initiatives at local, regional and national level.
