ROTORUA DISTRICT HARBOUR MASTER
SERVICE OVERVIEW
The Rotorua District Council provide Harbour Master services on 14 navigable Lakes and 56 Nautical miles of the Waikato River.
These services include:
- Maintenance and installation of Navigation Aids
- Effecting Compliance of the Regional Navigation and Safety Bylaws by the undertaking of patrols
- Maintenance and installation of Access Lanes used for Water Skiing
- Inspections of Lake structures to ensure they are maintained in sound condition
- Licensing of Lake Structures
- Maintenance and installation of Lake signage
- Licensing of Commercial Operations
- Liaison with Lake Ratepayer organisations
- Liaison with Lake user groups regarding the closing of Lakes to undertake events
- Issuing of Lakes Water Master licenses to operators working within the district
- Managing the team of 22 Enforcement Officers
