There has been significant growth in performances at the Civic Theatre. Council has adopted a conscious policy of growing a loyal audience for performances ranging from touring ballet to school rock concerts, from local operatic productions to the international Lipizana Horses.
Management have been active in developing Arts Network New Zealand, an umbrella body sponsoring touring companies with assistance from Creative New Zealand, and in informing the community of upcoming performances through the in-house Ticketek outlet.
