The Rotorua District Youth Council (RDYC) is made up of a range of 16 young people aged 13-20 years who live in the Rotorua District.

The Rotorua District Council's Young Persons Policy and Action Plan was set up in 2001 as an outcome of Te Puna Rangatahi, a Rotorua youth consultation project, involving thousands of Rotorua young people.  It was from this youth consultation project that the Rotorua District Youth Council was born.
