The council's Ten Year Plan (Long-Term Council Community Plan), Annual Plan and Annual Report form the essential guide to council activity in any given year. In
simple terms, the Annual Plan and Ten Year Plan set out what the Council is going to do over the next year in detail with projections for a ten year period. The Annual Report states what the Council actually did during the year.
This Annual Report, and the summary, present an account of Rotorua District Council's performance over the last financial year from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006. In the report you can see how much of the Annual Plan was achieved. It also provides residents with an account of how well the district's assets are being looked after and how well the council is performing as an organisation, financially and otherwise.
It is a key document for the council as it outlines what RDC committed to do in the year, how it actually delivered on that and how performance was measured – pinpointing accountability to residents. The report includes an overview, statements of service performance and financial statements, along with the Auditor's Report.
